Perthshire Open Studios 2019 Publicity Update

Now in its twelfth year, Perthshire Open Studios (POS) will take place from Saturday 7- Sunday 15th September 2019. The Showcase Exhibition at The Bield at Blackruthven, Tibbermore opens on Saturday 31 August and remains open from then until the close of the Event,  giving visitors the opportunity to see a range of the work of this year’s participants. This exhibition, which includes the work of a Featured Artist plus Artists in Residence, is proving to be a very popular part of the Event with 2018 experiencing the highest number of visitors ever.

As in previous years, Pitlochry Festival Theatre will host a small exhibition of POS artists’ work in the elegant ‘River Room’ at the theatre, also from Aug 31-Sep 15th.

2018 also saw a trend of artists along the coloured Routes coming together to promote the Event in their respective areas, the most notable being the Leslie Street Art Trail in Blairgowrie. Other areas are already planning activities for this year to offer visitors the maximum choice of art and crafts to see and purchase as they travel along the Routes, enjoying some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland.

We are working alongside Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust this year on their Doors Open Days (DOD)  to enhance the visitor experience by having some of their venues hosting POS Artists. These will be advertised in both the POS and the DOD publications and on both websites.

Our Call to Artists for 2019 is now closed and we will have over 140 venues taking part. We anticipate that our brochure will be ready for launch in mid July.
