Maryann Ryves’ paintings are inspired by the ever-changing landscape of Highland Perthshire. She mainly paints in oils to enhance the intensity of colour and create contemporary landscape paintings, particularly trees, and rich, loose still-lives. She uses the layering of images, colour and texture to explore space and depth.

Directions: To reach her studio, follow signs to Weem just outside Aberfeldy. The Old Manse is on the right coming from Aberfeldy, just past the Ailean Craggan Hotel. The studio is in the steading beside the house on the first floor.
