Iona Leishman
Iona paints expressive land and seascapes,
recognising that painting is about the tussle to
communicate. She recognises the truth in the words: “Imagination is not, as is sometimes thought, the ability to invent; it is the ability to disclose that which exists”. John Berger
Mairi Clark
Much of Mairi’s evocative paintings are
inspired by the Scottish coastline, particularly the East Neuk, where the ever changing interplay between sea, sky and landscape affect colour and mood. ‘It is very important to me to capture a free and energetic mood in my work’
Susan Cook
Susan likes to work on both sculpture and painting at the same time. One compliments the other, the mediums crossing over; painting on plaster with watercolours and sculpting in cement and wood with painted parts added. ‘I also use re-cycled
materials whenever possible, enjoying the
possibilities an old piece of metal or driftwood
offers.’
